Mission Trip to New York

24 05 2009

The North East Gospel Radio Network hosted our 4th annual Mission trip to upstate New York. We ministered in five of the surrounding towns around the Albany area. The weather was nice and the hearts were warm and receptive. It was a blessing to be reunited with familiar faces and to meet new ones as well.

Many small churches do not expect to ever have special guests with high quality and powerful presentations; therefore, it is always a blessing for us to include them during our travels. Many decisions were made for Christ-either first time salvations or rededications. We had many opportunities to have one on one prayer with those in need.

Many pastors are quietly struggling to stay afloat and to motivate their people to reach out to their community for Christ. We were able to offer prayer and encouragement for them with a reminding assuranace that they are not alone. Along with our evangelistic focus, it is always our goal to offer refreshment to pastors and lay people who are pouring out every day for the Great Commission.

Before returning, we had the opportunity to spend our last day in the NY City & Manhattan area. We took the moment to stop at Ground Zero and pray for the families still dealing with the impact of 9-11. We said hello to Lady Liberty before returning to Arizona.

Since the first of the year Rock of Safety Ministries has had to face one challenge or trial after another. We realize that we are in a spiritual battle field and taking that step of faith as a family of Gospel Missionaries does not make the enemy happy. But greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world, amen? After returning to the PHX airport, we went to the economy parking lot to get into our car for the drive home. There was a nice hand bag given to us from Dr Cho in Korea which had our ministerial notes, our journals, personal handwritten testimonies, songs, a very specialBible given to us from Bobby’s mom before she went home to be with the Lord, our digital camera, and the love offerings received during the trip.  We always kept a close eye on it; however, somehow it vanished at the parking lot and we noticed it officially missing when we arrived home. It is probably the most “spiritual” bag filled as one can get!! It is our prayer that it will be used as a vessel to minister to whoever found it or took it. Who knows…they might get saved!

Please keep us in prayer for God’s gracious protection and provision. We will be ministering closer to home for a while as we also pursue giving back to our own community for Christ.
